    The 9th International Conference on Aquaculture and Fisheries 2022 (ICFA 2022) was held from 25th – 26th of August following the hybrid format – taking place physically in Jakarta, Indonesia while also being held via Virtual Platforms across the rest of the world simultaneously. ICFA 2022 was organized under the theme “Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture: The Vision, Benefits, Roles and Responsibilities.” The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka and hosted by the South-South Aquaculture and Fisheries Cooperation (SSAFC) along with Politeknik Ahli Usaha Perikanan, Indonesia.

    The conference had the presence of the leading experts in the field of Aquaculture and Fisheries, including Dr. Rohana Subasinghe: Past President of the World Aquaculture Society – Asia Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC), Retired Chief of FAO Aquaculture Service and Managing Director, Future Fish, Sri Lanka. Along with Dr. Krishna R. Salin (Associate Professor and Chair, Aquaculture Program, AIT, Thailand; President-elect of the World Aquaculture Society – Asia Pacific Chapter).

    The conference had the participation of more than 75+ researchers, scientists, industry professionals, and students from over 15+ countries.

    Volume 8| Issue 1 of the Conference Proceedings of the International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture contains the open-access double blind peer-reviewed, original scientific research papers, reviews and case studies related to the 9th International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022.

    Vol 7 Issue 1 of Proceedings of International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture presents the manuscripts from conference participants who disseminated their research findings at 7th International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture (ICFA 2021).

    ICFA 2021 was held on 19th – 20th of August 2021 in Virtual Platform under the theme of “Managing Fisheries and Aquaculture Under New Normal Environment: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities”. The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with The South – South Aquaculture and Fisheries Cooperation as the Hosting Partner, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand as the Strategic Partner, Center for Fisheries Research, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia, Mulawarman University, Indonesia, Khon Kaen University, Thailand, Nong Lam University, Vietnam, University of Jember, Indonesia and University of Lampung, Indonesia as the Academic Partners.

    The 5th International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture 2018 – (ICFA 2018) was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia, Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh as the Hosting Partners while Curtin University, Australia and Tra Vinh University, Vietnam became the Academic Partners of the Conference. Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, Sri Lanka was the supporting Ministry whereas the National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA), AquaEx India 2018 and Sri Lanka Convention Bureau were strategic partners of the Conference.
